Basil
Basil, you have made so much progress since starting with us at Minety. You have really shown our value of aspiration by trying hard to do your best in every single lesson. This week you have been working really hard in maths; learning all about the value of different coins and adding different amounts of money together. You have also written some great sentences showing an understanding of ‘characterisation’ based on our English text ‘Beegu.’ You consistently show our school's value of respect to adults and your peers. Well done Basil!
Joseph
Joseph you been working so hard in class from the moment you come in – you always get down to and complete your morning task and are very proud to show us. You also listen carefully during our maths input, sharing your knowledge. Again, you get down to your written work quickly, asking for help when you need it. Your writing is also developing – you write very carefully and neatly and keenly share your work. Well done Joseph, keep it!
Oscar
Oscar has had a very busy week. He has been helping us to think about dinosaurs and what they eat. He has also been trying really hard with his writing and wrote a brilliant sentence about a dinosaur.
In maths he has been thinking about numbers that are one more or one less. He has also been exploring ways to make the number 5.
Well done – we are very proud of you.
Wilf
The Year 5 children have been really working hard to get to grips with long multiplication this week. A good, quick recall of times tables facts has helped them to conquer this challenging maths method. Wilf has consistently worked hard on his maths learning AND has been trying to improve his handwriting and sentence building work. Amazing learning, Wilf.
William P
William has had a terrific start to the new term and has worked with enthusiasm and interest across the curriculum. William has shown increased focus and work output and it has been great to see him with his hand up so frequently, eager to share his ideas. William has particularly shone in Guided Reading, he is really enjoying our new text and has demonstrated good vocabulary, retrieval and inference skills.
We are so impressed William – well done, keep it up!
