This term in Oakleaze Class we have been finding out about The Great War (WW1). In our art lessons we used a watercolour wash in graduated colours to create a dramatic background. We then used a photograph of an obliging class volunteer dressed in a WW1 uniform (discovered in our box of WW1 artefacts borrowed from Corinium Museum) as a model for a silhouette of a soldier. Detailed cutting was required to make the silhouette outline clear. These will be on display in our classroom.
